FAQs
It is tricky working out the right path for your family. Whilst I would love to be able to help everyone, it's important that we are a good match! Here are some frequently asked questions to help you decide whether or not I am the right person for you. Please get in touch if there is anything else you want to know.

What training have you had? I am currently completing the Holistic Sleep Coaching Program with BabyEm and the Open College Network. I chose to do level 6 (the highest level) to ensure I can help my clients using an excellent knowledge base and research, evidence based solutions. I also have my own daughter who is currently 18 months so I know the complexity of sleep challenges first hand!
Are you really a gentle sleep coach? In short, yes. I will only ever recommend strategies and approaches that are respectful and responsive to your child and will never advise that you let your child get into any sort of distress. I am really passionate about gentle parenting as a way to teach our children the values of respect and kindness and believe this can be applied to making changes with sleep, too.
Can you guarantee results? Although I am very confident that we can make some positive changes to your situation, I cannot guarantee that your child will sleep. Children are human beings with their own huge capacity for emotion and it's impossible to guarantee they will act a certain way. Saying that, I do believe my gentle strategies often work because they are designed to introduce change in a slow and respectful way.
When will I start seeing improvements? This completely depends on your situation and your child. Most children will start to get used to a new pattern within 1-2 weeks but smaller changes can be made quicker than that, depending on the age of the child. Please get in contact if you have more specific questions about this.
I have a 13 year old who struggles to sleep. Can you help? Unfortunately, I can only work with children up to the age of 10. If you are struggling to find someone to help you, please do get in contact and I will do my best to recommend someone.
I have a baby (under 6 months) and I need support. Can you help? Yes! Although the majority of my clients have older babies or toddlers, I love working with young babies. Please do get in contact and I can give you some more information.
My child is diagnosed with autism and struggles to sleep. Can you help? Yes! I love to help families who are navigating the complexities of a condition like autism. Through my background as a primary school teacher, I have worked with many children of different ages with autism and I know the struggles it can present. Please do get in contact and I give you some more information.
My child is having trouble eating. Can you help? No, but I would suggest getting in touch as eating issues are often linked to sleep issues. I have been trained in understanding infant feeding (milk and solids) and how it affects sleep. I hope I can help.
Will I have to buy any equipment during this process? No. There are certain things which I can recommend like white noise machines, blackout blinds or essential oils that may help with establishing a good sleep environment. However, you can also find alternatives to these in the home, without buying anything new. I will give you these suggestions if you let me know.
Do you prescribe any supplements? No. I can recommend certain essential oils or teas that sometimes aid with sleep. I am also trained in understanding some aspects of infant nutrition but I will likely refer you to another professional if there are any concerns.
My child struggles with their mental health. Could you help us with sleep support? Many children get anxious for many different reasons. As a former teacher, I have worked with many, many children who struggle with feeling anxious and know it can be really challenging for a family. I can absolutely give you some advice and strategies for getting better rest. If I have any concerns, I will likely refer you to another professional to get more support.
I really hope your question was answered. If not, please get in touch and I'll get back to you within 2 working days.
